Magrestor use and feeding guide

Approximate feeding guide, for weight of 500Kg. If the horse only gets excitable or stressed In a competition or work environment, feed approx 65 grams in a small dampened feed 1 ½ hours before the competition. For horses/ ponies under 300 Kg, give approximately 36 grams. Remove or give very little hay after administering the powder on the competition morning The powder can be ‘diluted in water and given via a syringe if the animal will not eat it in a feed. Dilution rate. 15 grams to 25ml water. In the first instance, It is better to feed over the stated amount, than under, so it is safe to feed 65 to 90 grams of Magrestor to a horse of 400 to 600 kg.

If the horse is excitable or stressed under normal conditions, e.g. in the stable or travelling, it maybe necessary to feed the powder at a rate of 100 grams daily for 5 days, and then reduce to 18 grams daily, then boost up to the 54 grams 1 ½ hrs prior to an event. Some horses react on a smaller amount than 65 grams prior to an event, The range of amounts can be anything from 36 to 65 grams, dependent on body weight and individuals makeup, temperament and circumstances.

The above amount of bio available magnesium will be used up by the horse in around 3 hours of hard work, 1 X level 50ml scoop weighs approxImately 18 grams. 4 x level 50 ml scoops gives 72 grams. 1 x slightly heaped scoop = 20 grams. For 65 grams give 3 ½ level scoops. TYING UP Feeding guide similar to above, add 15 grams at periods through out the ride, dependent on how far and how hard the ride is.

Waning. If the horse has any physical problems, back trouble lameness etc, by using this product and relaxing the horse, which basically removes the tension throughout the muscles, any physical defect will become more pronounced, as the animal will not be compensating with other muscles in the body. This product does not make them lame or sore, but just emphasizes the problem.
Do not give to horses that have any kidney or urinary problems, as excess magnesium is excreted via the urinary tract. Do not allow the powder to enter the airways. Always give in a dampened feed or diluted in water.
Make sure there is always adequate water available

Approximate feeding guide for laminitis

The amounts stated below are the horses full daily intake magnesium per weight ratio. Once a horse has built a suficient store, they may be reduced to a daily maintenance level of 18 grams per day, dependent on management, feeding and exercise status.

To help manage laminitis, the amount can be increased or decreased dependent on circumstances and grass intake, if turning out on richer grass or for longer periods, increase the Magrestore. It is safe to exceed the estimated amount by 50 to 75%.

Guide. For up to 200 kg weight, give 20 grams in a small dampened feed daily. Between 200kg and 300kg, give 35/40 grams daily. Over 300 and up to 500/600 kg, give 65/72 grams daily.

In the first instance, give up to one and a half times the amount stated above for 5 days, example 200 kg pony 30 grams for 5 days. This helps to restore the used bio available magnesium to normal levels If the pony shows improvement and the grass regime has remained if same, the amount can be reduced to the grams per weight ratio. If turning out for longer periods, increase the amount accordingly, as the animal will require the magnesium to keep a level balance within the system.

It is better to give slightly over the amount stated in the initial stages. 1 X 50ml level scoop, gives approximately 18 grams which equals 1.8 grams of pure magnesium. For 200 kg. pony give 1 slightly heaped scoop = 20 grams The powder may be diluted in water at a rate of 25ml water to 18 grams of powder, then administer orally with a syringe.

Warning
This product is not a cure or treatment for laminitis, but a dietary aid. Always dampen feed and do not allow the powder to enter the airways. For help or advice on the feeding and uses of Magrestor please do not hesitate to contact Maneline.
